In 2001, Corrado chose the land of Abruzzo, Italy for his new wine making dream. The Controguerra was inherited by his family and discovered that the land's unique combination of minerals, land virginity and sun exposition are ideal for making not only great wines but also world class ‘organic’ wines.

Giovani's winemaking philosophy is incredibly simple and can best be summed up with the phrase, “keep it genuine”. He has been making wine for 32 years and continues to perfect his craft of winemaking.
